Methodology Architecture
More and more techniques and methodologies evolve month by month, and to find the right combination is as important for a developing organisation as the IT architecture it builds it’s business processes on.
A right methodology architecture selects the fitting combination of techniques for the organization’s purpose, develops a way of working with internal Communities of Practice and Outside-In communities.
Capability map
Building on people and continuous delivery teams opens the need to have more than one specialization.
Using the simple tool of capability mapping and transparent actions related to it builds individuals and teams from “I” profile to “T” and “PI” profile, improving bottleneck and flexibility related problems.
Management 3.0
There are plenty of management models going around and these are different in many ways but also have some elements in common. As a manager it’s important to know which one to turn to given a certain organizational structure.
Management 3.0 focuses on managerial competencies and mentality that help you lead your team to success in an agile environment. Not only does the training introduce you to and helps implementing agile managerial tools, but it also helps putting different management theories into context, like Taylor’s (1.0) and Lean (2.0).

Product Journey Bootcamp
In order to make sure that there really is a need for a certain business initiative, that it is viable and market-ready, you have to have facts that support your concept.
Product Journey Canvas is a modified Business Model Canvas that helps guide your thinking in the process of preparing a project or a Value Proposition (VP). During this Bootcamp we offer Value Owners (VO), project managers or anyone with a business idea help in the journey of getting from having an idea to having a well-founded VP or project plan.
Lean basics
Some companies fail to realize that getting constant feedback from customers is key in creating value for them. Sticking to processes that have been in use for a long time is also a common mistake, which leaves no room for improvement.
After completing this training participants will have essential knowledge about Lean methodology which emphasizes the importance of continuous improvement aiming to create customer value focusing on efficiency.
Agile Essentials
Today’s ever changing environment requires flexibility, the ability to respond to change quickly and often and collaboration between individuals and teams to satisfy customer needs.
This training aims to provide participants with essential knowledge about agility, so that they can learn how to adapt in an uncertain and volatile environment.
Scrum Basics
When creating customer value it is important to get constant feedback from the customer and to be able to define (or redefine) your work based on what they need. You also need a good team who aim to continue to improve their work throughout the development.
SCRUM is one of the most widely used agile frameworks. It focuses on iterative work cycles, delivering increments that have value of their own, implementing customer feedback and the willingness to change direcion if needed. This training offers insight into the basics of SCRUM.
Operative Model
Agile Portfolio Management
Typically, a shortage in one of the key resources of the development portfolio causes competition between initiatives (e.g. T2M or experts). It’s not always predictible how market needs develop and since they change even during development, iterative monitoring of the direction is necessary. There are a lot of instances where a new ‘most important matter’ comes up so implementing shorter cycles is needed for being able to follow up on changes. Development processes are not repetitive, therefore collaboration within the organization becomes a must. This is where an effective portfolio management system, that supports an Agile way of working as well, is needed. This will show:
- When, what and with how much certainty the organizaion is able to deliver today – a prioritizing and resource planning structure that is clear and transparent on every decision-making level, preparation mechanisms and portfolio processes that are simple and easy to understand for the organization;
- In what dimensions, where and who has obligations to contribute to the goals – showing divergence, results and learnings along the organizational key dimensions, taking planned actions/reactions from the organization to decision-making forums;
- What is necessary for further development to be launched – showing shortage of resources and skills transparently and developing a supplement-plan;
- Where we stand with executing our strategy and key development tasks – Program/Project riporting and monitoring of progress, risk and delivery;
- What the colleration is between development/strategy hypothesis and the actual value delivery – following up on value creation, defining decision-making points so if the solution carried out doesn’t serve or support our hypothesis we have the opportunity to intervene before the completion of the entire development.
Obeya room
It takes much effort and attention to deploy a working startegy reporting system with transparent and up to date information, giving ability to act and decide on the right decision level.
A well set Obeya room and the governing modell around it gives a way to follow startegy realization, and formation on operative, program and management level.
Delivery Planning Event
As part of effective Agile Portfolio Management, it’s important to know what skills are needed on which projects, tasks or program, where these skills can be found within the organization, how much resource can be allocated and what teams will work on them exactly.
Delivery Planning Event (DPE) is a big-room-event where every colleague working on initiatives, that make up the portfolio, is brought together to work out what tasks (User Stories) are needed to reach a Value Proposition’s (VP), project’s or initiative’s goals. Each person is responsible for how much of their time can be allocated to each VP.
Building a team
To be able to deliver value to the customer fast and tailored to their needs, you need to have a clear understanding of the purpose of your project and you should have milestones defined before the end that have value of their own. You also need a good team that will keep on delivering throughout the project.
We provide assistance in clarifying your goals (the endgoal AND the small victories in between) based on what your customers need. We will also help putting together a team that contains all the necessary expertise – developers and (if needed) operators as well (DevOps teams).
Re-think organization
NWoW implementation roadmap
When starting a scaled agile based digital transformation each company stands at a different milestone, in many cases with different purpose and ambition to change. We see it crucial to pick, combine and align the elements from which we look for tangible value. We believe that each organization should walk a different path and our team can help you cherry-pick the right elements for you which, as an example, can consist of these:
Organization re-thinking
While new products, teams and client needs evolve faster than ever, it takes much effort to set organization designs and rules of flexibility in a way that it focuses on efficiency and also on effectiveness.
Purpose driven organizational designs and bi-model structures enable productivity, learning culture and scalability.
Building internal agile evangelist team
One of the main reasons many companies’ initiative to implement changes across the organization fails is that they lack a shared understanding of why change is needed, a clear vision of what they want to achieve and how to get there.
We can help organizations better understand the goals they want to accomplish with a transformation program and how to make them transparent and understandable for everyone involved. We will also help identify the neccessary competencies to build a team that would lead the transformation and the steps needed to reach its goals.
Value Owner/Product Owner coaching & mentoring
Product Owners (POs) and Value Owners (VOs) are today’s internal entrepreneurs at large organizations. They use the companies’ capabilities, resources and governance to fullfill their passion with successful products, bringing success to the entire organization.
Coaching and Mentoring them offers a helping hand in being more efficient and effective through developing the right personal techniques for the given situations.
Culture Upgrade
Value Proposition Prioritization Event
It is incredibly important for organizations to know which projects mean the most value so that Colleagues can join and resources can be allocated to the initiatives that are the most important for the business.
A Value Proposition Prioritization Event (VPPE) is a few-hour event, during which business representatives, specialists, managers, evaluate Value Propositions (VPs) made by Value Owners (VOs). These VPs based on business value along previously discussed and agreed evaluation criteria, thus creating a priority list which transparently shows what the most valuable projects are from the company’ point of view. VOs have the chance to pitch their business ideas and answer any questions the voters might have so that they have a thorough understanding of each VP.
Organization Retro workshop
When implementing changes into an organization it is important to realize and accept the fact that constant improvement is key. We need to regularly look back on what we have done and how we have been doing it.
By extending retrospective methods used by agile teams onto our organisation system level, we are able to create an ever-learning organization by empowering a type of culture that builds on feedback.
F*ck up events
Being able to share among colleagues the mistakes we made and what we learned from them, helps create a more trusting environment and enables the organization to constantly learn and evolve.
A so-called F*ck up workhop is a simple tool that can ease people into sharing stories of when they messed something up and encourages them to focus on what the take-aways are in these situations making them see the opportunity to learn.
Agile Maturity Assessment
Although we do not recommend comparing organizations in Ways of Working to other ones, to set the right AS-IS line and to be able to see the GAP to the company’s target operating system, Agile Maturity Assessment on organizational, team and management level gives a good indication.
We offer help in determining the agile maturity level of Your organization using the Agile Maturity Assessment.
Agile for Managers
Being a manager in an agile environment requires a different approach compared to other management styles. It’s mainly about managing the system, not the people, ensuring the right conditions for a team to enable them to do the best work they can.
This training aims to provide essential knowledge about agility and focuses on key elements that a leader should pay most attention to. It also introduces participants to tools which they can use to involve their teams in their vision.
